If anyone says it doesn't rain in Southern California to Briana and Mike, they will beg to differ.  After multiple rescheduling's, we finally managed to pull off their fun, tender engagement session recently.  And although it was chilly and looked like it might rain again, nothing could dim the smile on Mike's face as he held onto Briana.  Viewing the love between two people, and being able to capture it for them to see, is the most amazing job anyone could have.

That was Abby, by the way.  More of her later, dog lovers...

Thanks so much Karen - you really put us at ease for the engagement session and we can't wait for our wedding day and to see the pictures you take then!

Miss Preteen turns 11 tomorrow. She's already 5'4" and stealing clothes out of my closet.  She's so tall and wise, I forget she isn't 14 or 15 sometimes... only 10... for another 24 hours anyhow. My baby girl.  Last week we got rid of the swing set in our backyard and so that was a pretty emotional reminder that my kids are growing and there aren't any more little ones coming up to take their place on the slide.  It's a blessing to see them growing into these great human beings and a curse to see this time slip by so quickly.  Any of you out there relating to this?

My birthday in Sunday.  It will get swallowed up in the celebration my daughter is having, but it's okay.  I count the 20 kids that are coming over as my friends too.  And how many people my age get to say they had a 20 foot water slide at their party!  I bought myself an apple pie to have after her party is over.  Yummmmm!

We went shopping for some decorations yesterday and came home with this little number...

And yes, those are awesome paste-on mustaches we got for the gift bags you see in the background!  We know how to make a party happen!

Hope your weekend is as full of love, laughter, family and paste-on mustaches as mine will be!

I recently had the pleasure of photographing some friends and their extended family as a birthday present to his mom.  All the siblings, kids, grandkids and great-grand kids came together for this beautiful gift for her.  Such a sweet, thoughtful present.

Waiwera still water.

This is the best tasting water I have ever had. Ever. I originally bought it for the cool bottle during my road trip to Galco's but this New Zealand water is amazing. I don't know if it's the spring it's from, that it's bottled in glass (not plastic) or both, but it's worth every penny! If you ever run across a bottle, you gotta try it!

Meet the awesomeness that is Reiko and Scott.

Having fun couples that allow me to get creative, and are totally into it, are awesome.  {I will be using the word awesome a lot in this post.}

Besides their obvious love of all things graphic novel-y, is their love for John and Yoko. Scott proposed to Reiko in Central Park's Strawberry Fields after a visit to the Dakota.  And Scott was clever enough to ask a stranger to take their photo right before dropping to one knee and popping the question.  Awesome!  We did a little nod to Yoko during the rest of our session together.
