Well, that probably got your attention!  I'm crazy busy with weddings right now but I wanted to do a quick post on this family portrait I did last week.

We headed out to a fallen tree this family had seen on a hike.  (I love when my clients take me on adventures.) I've ridden these trails many times and it's so beautiful here but this time of year it abounds with rattlesnakes. And apparently there was something in the news about how there are more rattlers out this year then in previous years. Yea, great, so, I'm convinced that if it wasn't for their huge dog Dino we would have been bit.  I have never heard so many rattles going off at the same time.  I tried to play it cool but I'm sure the fact that I kept looking at the sound coming from only two feet away from me gave away my paranoia!

In the end, we got some great shots and made it out safely.  (I thought for sure you'd all see, "Photographer and family attacked by swarm of rattler's - news at 11!" on your T.V.'s that night.)  I included the cutest pic of Dino as well for you animal lovers.

He looked at her through teary eyes and turned to the crowd to say, "I really love her, I do, I love her...I love her..." After three years of dating Kevin and Sandra tied the knot in a beautiful, traditional church ceremony surrounded by family and friends. Kevin, I will never forget the emotions you shared with us all that night and your love for Sandra.  Sandra, I will always remember the way each glance you give Kevin is filled with so much love and admiration. And.... I will never, ever forget how breathtaking you were on your wedding.  Thank you for sharing this amazing day with me.

Sandra got ready in her family home (amazing makeup and hair done by Maria Flanagan of Culver City).  Her mom had laid out all her clothes for her so lovingly. The dress is from Mariposa Boutique in Anaheim.

Sandra and Kevin choose not to see each other before the wedding but gave me two hours of photography time in between the ceremony and reception.  I love when couples don't rush through their wedding day and make great portraits a priority.  It allowed me to really create an experience for them and we got these wonderful shots, all at the beautiful Palos Verdes Golf Course. Wedding session is in full swing and my poor blog is being neglected even though I have so much to post.  I'm trying to catch up and I couldn't think of a better shoot then this one!

Rachel and Brian are...welll... friggin' hot! I was over the moon when they booked me last year to do their June wedding.  I knew having these two in front of my camera would be great.  They are both professional dancers and since they meet at a studio we thought it would be a fun place to start our engagement session.

We had to break our session into two days because of the rain but I'm sure glad we waited for a beautiful clear day at the beach...

I've been visiting my Grandmother in the hospital since she was admitted on Mothers Day.  I go to CCU every day to check on her, talk to the doctors and I guess try to perk her up a bit.  Being there is hard.  I remind myself how much harder it is to be on the other side of that but I still leave and sit in my car and cry before I drive home.

I'm starting to see some regular people in there.  I don't think that's a good thing but in a weird way it's a sense of community in our little local hospital. I thought I might find Bill today sitting with his wife, but I must have missed him.  He's in there most of the time sitting with her.  It's so sweet yet he knows it's not looking good. His eyes start watering when he talks about her.

I'm off for the weekend to shoot two weddings, one of which is in San Diego.  Then I have a two day photo event in Laguna. I told my Grandmother that I wouldn't see her much for the next five days and she gets it.  I feel bad though, knowing that I am the only family here so she won't have any visitors for awhile. That makes me sad.  I think growing old scares me a bit...

Please note that I will return emails and calls upon my return.  Thought I'd leave you with a photo from outside of Boston. It's of a marsh that my BFF grew up near and she asked me to take this for her.  She wants me to come back and do another in the winter.  I miss her too...
