What a great way to start the year... a B'Nai Mitzvah with triplets! I had been looking forward to this Mitzvah for awhile as I think this family is great. The ceremony was held at the beautifully redone Congregation Tikvat Jacob in Manhattan Beach. Although I wasn't able to shoot during the ceremony, it didn't matter... the wonderful Rabbi Hyman did a complete run through at the rehearsal and allowed me full access. ( This makes such a difference to my clients in getting great images and albums that tell the whole story of the day.) I can't wait to shoot here again!

The party was held at the Manhattan Marriott and once again, Nina Bracker out did herself with the event planning. Donald from Let the Music Play had the entire place on it's feet all night, young and old. It was an unbelievable, high energy, celebration for three amazing kids!

In honor of Halloween yesterday, the Modern Jewish Mitzvah blog featured David's Halloween Bar Mitzvah. How nice to get a Mitzvah featured instead of a wedding for a change! You can check out the whole post here.

Evan appeared so at ease during his Bar Mitzvah. Reading the Torah seemed second nature for him in the packed sanctuary at Temple Emmanuel. Perhaps being surrounded by so many friends and family members helped.

After a wonderful kiddish lunch, the celebration continued later that night at The Mark. Nina Bracker Events did yet another amazing job. I love working with such a great planner. And I loved this family. Thanks for having me capture Evan's day!

I think I've said this before, but I love hanging out with the kids whose Mitzvah's I will be photographing. During the portrait session, I have a great opportunity to get to know them better. I had poor Allison and her mom get up very early on a Sunday morning in order to beat all the tourists to Hollywood and Vine. Looking forward to your big event next summer Ally!

Megan's Bat Mitzvah was AMAZING! FIrst of all, Megan is amazing. And adorable! She had a wonderful ceremony recently at Congregation Ner Tamid in Palos Verdes. (I love the stain glass windows there.) The temple was packed full of family and friends, with a wonderful kiddush luncheon that followed.

The evening party was held at the Norris Pavillion, were Megan studies theater. Nina Bracker Events did an outstanding job planning this party! I love working with Nina!

There were a ton of fun activities for the kids: a green screen photo booth, dance dance revolution, a scrapbook station... and the DJ, Seth of You Should be Dancing, was great! Megan and her theater friends even put on a performance for everyone.

At the end of the night, everyone got a box of Krispy Kreme donuts. Nice!
