This is actually a two day, day trippin' entry but close enough. 95% of these were taken on interstate 10 on my way to, and from, Phoenix this past weekend. (There are a few 101 Fwy shots thrown in the mix as well.)

I like to think of Sundays as lazy, relaxing days. I love making breakfast for everyone. I also love sitting at the table pouring over the Sunday paper with a glass of OJ. Am I the only one who still reads a newsprint paper, not an online version? I have looked through the Sunday paper since I was a kid and now my daughter sits with us reading the comics. It's so cute! Cleaning is unavoidable so a bit of that is done. Least favorite thing to clean? Toilets. But, does anyone actually like doing that? No? I didn't think so, so I don't complain... too much.
Well, now Fall Softball has started for my daughter so there isn't much relaxing going on in the mornings. It's rush-rush to get out to the field. And of course out here in the valley it's still in the hundreds so the poor girls were sweaty little messes yesterday. But they did great! I'm not big on keeping score but I admit it's nice when they win because they are so proud of themselves! So, they won yesterday! Yeah.
And afterward, off we went to the mall to get my daughters ears pierced. She never wanted to do it until Saturday so before she changed her mind we got it done. She looked so grownup sitting in that chair, I started to cry. Just a bit. A smidge really... okay, I'm an emotional wimp. I admit it. "Hi, I'm Karen, an emotional addict." (Hi Karen) And yes I cry at Hallmark commercials too. Maybe that's why I love photographing weddings so much. It's a tear-fest!!!

This is a great example of how every stage of your children's life is special and important to remember. Don't wait for the braces to come off, do some during and after so you can remember it all!

I have the best clients/friends ever!!! They truly rock and I'm so glad they are in my life. I got invited by this fab couple (whose son's Bar Mitzvah I'm photographing in March) to go see Pink with them last night! She preformed at the Staples center and the show was amazing. Loved her, the set design rocked and we sang our hearts out for three hours!

A few things some of you may not know about me... I love to scrapbook and I am a leader of my daughter's Girl Scout troop. Last year, we started the girls scrapbooking so they could preserve all the memories they were making as a troop. Anyhow, I took a photo for Scrapbook Etc. Magazine to see if they would post it in their readers section. Now, many, many, months later, I opened up the magazine I got in the mail today and low and behold... there is my troop looking adorable. Aren't they cute? My daughter is in the front row on the floor in the blue skirt and converse.

I was fortunate enough to be one of the 1200 or so people that got tickets to see Dave Matthews Band perform live for the Ellen Show yesterday (to be aired today). We spent hours in the hot California sun but it was worth every minute! The band is so tight and just unbelievable. We only got four songs but it was worth the sunburn! I need to see them in concert so badly now. As we were leaving, Dave came out and greeted some of us. He was amazingly sweet, funny and gracious. I was right next to him but I got too shy to ask for a photo and I guess I kinda didn't want to bug him. I'm kicking myself now though! Here are a few shots I took with my handy-dandy iPhone camera.
