Mantras

Mantras are a word or sound used in meditation. By using a mantra during meditation, we create a vibration in both our body and mind. One syllable mantras are usually referred to as Bija, or seed, mantras and the vibrations are often used to stimulate the chakras. A seed mantra resonates with the wisdom that within one tiny seed is all the knowledge of a fully grown tree. By planting a seed mantra into your consciousness, your soul can awaken. During our meditation on Monday, I introduced the mantra โ€™Sat Namโ€™, meaning โ€˜I am truthโ€™. โ€˜Satโ€™ is pronounced like โ€˜butโ€™ and when you say the โ€™tโ€™ sound, the tongue should touch the roof of the mouth, not your teeth.  This is an easy mantra to say and remember, yet it carries all the wisdom you need: I am truth.
